The
Old Coachhouse Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th, May 2008 ClayArt features an extensive and exciting variety of new work - from functional pots to sculpture - by over 70 of the UK’s leading potters and ceramic artists all selected for their creativity and quality. Now in its sixth year, ClayArt is now firmly established in the craft pottery calendar, specialising in selling studio pottery and ceramics directly from the makers. Come and meet the artists, talk and discuss their ideas and working practices, watch potters at the wheel and firing kilns - all exciting stuff guaranteed to get you ‘fired up’ about clay. Held in a delightful courtyard of a former mansion house in the Vale of Clwyd, you can browse the stands full of innovative ceramics, admire the work, buy them, or you might just want to chat with the artists. You can find booths with books and magazines, trade stands with craft materials and equipment. There are free workshops organised for the children so you can happily leave them with our expert staff while you enjoy your gallery walk. A large covered area serving drinks, sandwiches and snacks will offer you a break during your day. Throughout the weekend there will be a continuous programme of demonstrations in the marquee arena featuring some of Britain’s best known experts. In the courtyard there will be demonstrations of kiln firing, raku and smoke firing techniques. Adult
